I expected less after reading the negative reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. My private room with ensuite was bigger than I thought, quiet, and a comfortable temperature without needing the heater. I loved the cute, quirky bits of decor. The kitchen had a parents' kitchen kind of feel, but was extremely clean for a hostel. At only $125 a night, I'd call it a bargain. I'll definitely stay again!

Don't stay at this lodge. At first it seemed okay, but strange music kept looping for hours, almost like a cult. That wasn't the worst of it. The beds had stains and hair on them, didn't seem cleaned, and were very uncomfortable. The bathrooms were extremely dirty, with no privacy in either the showers or toilets, and the lights in our room didn't work. There was mice poo and drug items around the kitchen, and mould all over the BBQ. It's worth paying more to stay somewhere else. Something felt really off about the place. DONT STAY!!!

The room smelled, the hallways were dark, and the whole place had a weird vibe. We found hair from previous guests on the bedding under the quilt cover, so the sheets hadn't been changed. The bed underlay was mouldy, the mattress springs were poking through and taped onto it, and the carpet and floor were filthy. Sitting on the floor while we searched for a cleaner place left us covered in dust and what looked like dog or cat hair, as well as human hair. I wasn't going to let my children stay there. The older man in the jag questioned my husband about why we were leaving. My husband took him upstairs to show him, and he said the pillows shouldn't have been on the beds because they were display pillows. In the booking.com reply, you said the hairs on the pillows came from us. My hair is blonde and my children's hair isn't black. We didn't lie on those beds. What's the explanation for the mould under the mattress, the filthy carpet and smell, or the springs taped onto the mattress? This place should be shut down. Absolutely DISGUSTING. I didn't expect a luxury resort, but cleanliness is a given and non-negotiable. DO BETTER and stop exposing people to this filth and ripping them off. You can see that my hair doesn't match the hair on that pillow.

The people running the lodge were so kind and welcoming that we felt right at home during our winter stay. Everything was clean, tidy and comfortable, and the facilities were excellent. The location made it easy to enjoy the area. We had a really great experience and would highly recommend staying here.

A shared kitchen is available if you want to make food, and the rooms were clean. The place feels dated, though, and the mattress was short and very springy. Fine for crashing for a night or two.
