The room was fine for the two nights we spent here in early April before walking the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, though I wouldn't choose it for a longer stay. It was comfortable, but small, and the bathroom and shower were tiny. There was a bath on the patio, but in April that didn't really appeal to us. Breakfast was continental and delivered to our room. It was okay, though we could have used something more substantial before the crossing.

The cabin's bathtub was a lovely treat, and having extra private space made the price feel worthwhile compared with a hotel room. Staff were really friendly and helpful, and breakfast delivered to my door was great. The room is a bit outdated and the bathroom isn't the best, though I've stayed in nicer places for half the price. A microwave would've helped too, since the communal kitchen is a bit far on a rainy day haha.

We stayed in a two-bedroom lodge, which gave a relative a place to stay with us. It was dated, but comfortable and quiet, and it did the job. The lodge is on the outskirts of a small outpost town, with a garage, grocery store and liquor store. We also went out to Gollums pool and the cable car Whakapapa.

We got good value for what we paid. Our large two-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment had a fully equipped kitchen, and the flat was very quiet. We were there in January and it felt quite chilly, but there were heaters. Reception staff were friendly.

The shared facilities were clean and well equipped, and our room and beds felt warm and welcoming after a day on the mountain. The lodge was very clean, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. It worked perfectly for our family, especially our four-year-old, who had plenty of toys and books to enjoy. The fireplace was a lovely touch.
