Walton Park Motor Lodge

We had several people to accommodate, and the price was great for the space. The room was tidy, the bed clean and fresh towels were provided. It’s close enough to walk to shops. We were right by an intersection, but the noise didn’t bother me. I stayed a few nights recently and enjoyed it, thanks Walton park. I’d definitely stay again.

The reception staff were polite and helpful when I booked, which was the best part of our stay. The place itself was awful: sticky floors, broken furniture and flooring, a cracked bathroom window, and grimy cutlery and dishes that we had to wash before using. Each bed had just one pillow, and the queen bed rolled into the middle. The sheets looked clean, but the duvet had cigarette burns. In the morning, a cockroach was crawling on my son’s bed, and there were more huge ones in the kitchen. There were cockroaches, sticky floors, damaged furniture and dirty dishes all around.

The room needed refurbishment throughout. The stairs were dangerous, the shower cubicle was grubby with nowhere to put soap or a flannel, and the curtain was torn. The table was so sticky we had to cover it with newspaper before using it. There were no cooking facilities, and washing dishes in the bathroom basin was hardly hygienic. The motel is beside a busy state highway intersection, so traffic noise carried on all night. We prepaid for two nights before seeing the place. I won’t do that again. They wouldn’t refund the second night, which we paid for but didn’t use.

It’s an old, run-down place. The beds were clean, but the room needs a bathroom overhaul, and there weren’t enough power outlets.
