Cortez Motel

Jackie made the booking easy and was really friendly, even though we called at the last minute on a public holiday weekend and this was the only room left. We checked in very late because of a bereavement in the family. The room was better than we expected, and the price was great for a long weekend. Thank you 🙏

My one-year-old loved the courtyard and lovely pool. The owners were really nice whenever we needed anything, and the rooms were great and serviced every day. If you need family-friendly accommodation with everything you need, this place is it. Nothing to fault.

We’ve stayed in better places for less, so the price didn’t feel competitive for what was offered. The pool was a joke, really only for kids, and the advert photos made it look bigger. The accommodation is dated, with very basic cooking facilities. There were just enough utensils if you rinsed and reused them while preparing food, and daily servicing was okay. There weren’t enough power points by the sink or any bench for meal prep. Smoking was allowed outside, and our neighbour chose to smoke in the chair beside our door and even on our doorstep. The host was abrupt when we arrived because we’d parked in the wrong place, but there were no signs showing where to park. Disappointed with what we spent.

The location was handy for shops and a few nice places within walking distance. It’s beside the main road, but wasn’t too noisy. Our room had what we needed for preparing food, and we used the BBQ to cook a roast. It was clean when we arrived for our two-night stay, and the cleaners did a great job each morning. Friendly staff catered to what we asked for, and the rates were very reasonable. The pool looked nice, though it was too cold for us to swim, and I can imagine it’d be lovely in warmer weather. We also met Liam, the owners’ little baby, which made things feel more personal and welcoming. We’ll definitely stay again.
