Ivan, the owner, made us feel welcome straight away with his friendly manner. He even upgraded our room at no extra cost, which was a thoughtful surprise and made the trip more comfortable. The room was clean and spacious, and the beds were comfortable. It was much nicer than we expected for the price, and the stay exceeded our expectations. We'd happily come back.

The Wayside is clean and spacious, with all the comforts of home. Fresh linen is provided and the rubbish emptied daily, and the weekly dusting, mopping and vacuuming keep the place sparkling. Guests can do their laundry there too. The daily room care feels like an excuse to check that everyone is happy and has what they need at any time. Mr. Ivan, his beautiful wife Ms. Helen and their lovely "sister-friend" Ms. Leslie are wonderful. They're kind, compassionate and run a tight ship. The [Dynamic Trio's] professionalism, care and respect are one thing, but their friendship, love and compassion are a whole other blessing. Unit 15 was clean and tidy, with good pressure in the hot shower and a spa bath that I didn't use. The shower entrance is wide, so it would suit someone needing wheelchair access.

It's a quiet spot near a few good shops, and there's a good bike track to Rangiora as well. We loved our stay, with a great host, a clean, spacious room and a great location. We'll definitely stay again.

The unit was roomy, very clean and comfortable. The host was friendly, the shower had great water pressure, and food places are close by.
