Al Falaj Hotel has a familiar, old-school feel, and many travellers seem to return because they find it dependable. That makes it a good base for business trips and short city stays, especially for people who want a mid-range hotel rather than a resort. Guests often mention spacious rooms, friendly and professional staff, reasonable prices for a 4-star hotel, and facilities for sport and leisure, including a pool, gym, sauna, and badminton court. It also suits family visits. The overall pattern of guest feedback suggests it draws business travellers, short-stay visitors, sports groups, and people looking for a reliable place in Muscat. There are some drawbacks to keep in mind. Parts of the property and some rooms seem outdated and may need refurbishment. Wi-Fi can be inconsistent in certain areas, breakfast gets crowded at peak times, and traffic around Ruwi can be inconvenient when it’s busy. For a business trip or a short city visit, it offers a practical balance of price, location, and facilities. It’s also a reasonable fit for travellers who want sports and leisure options, or a family-friendly hotel with a pool. Request a refurbished room if one is available. People looking for an ultra-modern luxury resort experience may find it less suitable. It remains a recognisable, respected mid-range choice for exploring Muscat, with useful facilities and a long-standing reputation among regional travellers. Though some areas show the property’s age, it can still provide comfort and convenience.

The food was a highlight during our two-day family stay at Al Falaj in Feb'26, which coincided with the Valentine's day celebration. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner all had excellent variety and options, and we enjoyed the meals and time relaxing by the pool and in the surroundings. The staff supported us from check-in through final check-out. The interiors and infrastructure felt modern and elegant, in a typical European and International Standards style. We give the hotel a thumbs up for a stay and highly recommend it.

Breakfast stood out: over our three days there were fresh live counters, plenty of variety, and different Indian dishes each morning. The food quality was very good. The pool was nice and seemed popular, and the location worked well for us, with Mutrah Corniche, Al Alam Palace, and Qantab village a short drive away. We’d looked at quite a few hotels online before choosing Al Falaj Hotel, and the stay turned out better than expected. The arrival felt welcoming, from the parking area to the lobby and reception, which smelled great. Check-in staff were polite and efficient. They kindly upgraded us to the higher floor we’d requested, with city and mountain views and a little sea in the distance. The compact room was cozy and thoughtfully laid out. I work in design, so I especially noticed the finishes, lighting, and use of space. The main issues were low shower pressure, which meant mostly using the hand shower, and windows that wouldn’t open. With such nice weather outside, some fresh air would’ve been welcome. Everyone we met on staff was kind and respectful. Room service could be slow, but the menu had lots of choices, including a good number of vegetarian options, at reasonable prices. It was comfortable and good value, and a better experience than we’d expected.

The location is ideal for staying in Muscat, just 5 min from Muscat Souq and Mutrah Corniche. Staff were incredibly kind and professional. I enjoyed the gourmet breakfast by the swimming pool, and the pub on the 8th floor is worth a visit for its amazing view.
