Hotel Al Hail Waves Hotel Managed By Centara

The pool has several broken tiles and visible mold in a number of spots, which raised major hygiene concerns for me. The water was also so salty that my eyes burned while swimming. The hotel should use proper pool chemicals instead of putting so much salt in the water. My family and I stayed for the weekend, and the experience was extremely disappointing. The bed was very poor quality and left me with back pain after one night. Staff came across as cold and robotic from the start, with no real hospitality. Interactions felt confrontational, as though they were ready to argue instead of help. When I asked for another towel for my child at the pool, they refused, saying the policy was two towels per room. That seemed unreasonable for a hotel that says children are welcome. I can’t book another room just to get my child one towel. It’s basic courtesy. The lack of care for guests, poor maintenance and discomfort made this a bad family stay. It fell well short of the standard I associate with Centara. I won’t book here again and wouldn’t recommend it to families looking for a welcoming, comfortable place.

The room was huge for an average price, comfortable, with good AC and a water heater. Breakfast was good too, just what we needed before travelling. There’s a basic gym and pool. It’s near a hypermarket and fast food restaurant, and you can walk to the fishermen beach. The place is simple but has what you need. It’s a bit far from Muscat, but still an interesting area to explore. We’ll come back on our next trip to Oman.

The staff serving guests through room service were great, and the rooms are spacious, very neat, with excellent bathrooms and plenty of toiletries. Some of the rooms have superb sea views. The issue was that staff wouldn’t give us cutlery or plates for feeding our little one unless we bought food from the hotel restaurant. They also wouldn’t reheat food for kids. That policy felt pretty unfair, especially since we’ve never run into this at Radisson, Hilton, Sheraton or the others.

We had a great stay at Al Hail waves, and the staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. They even packed breakfast for us when we had to check out super early, and the breakfast itself was so good. The location is handy too, close to a beach, restaurants, a pharmacy and a supermarket. Huge thanks to the staff. We couldn’t have asked for more.
