I can’t understand the bad reviews. The rooms and shared areas were very clean, and the rooms have TVs and everything you need. The location is ideal, close to the main roads and less than 10 minutes from the souk and fort. There are lots of restaurants nearby, including a fantastic Pakistani restaurant in the industrial area, and Lulu Market is next door. Perfect, really.

The receptionists were professional, and housekeeping did a good job. Even their toothbrush was cute. The sunrise view was better than the one at Jebel Hatt. A good experience.

The rent is affordable, which is the one positive. Kawa and dates were available at reception, if that helps. But the rooms are pretty old and poorly maintained, with old sheets and towels. There weren’t any cups, coffee, or even floor or bathroom mats. They really need to upgrade things to attract more people.

The room was okay, and the location is good, close to nizwa souq. There are several eateries nearby, along with evening barbecue and burger spots.

The staff were friendly and it was a good place to stay. We’ll check in again when we come back to visit niwza.
