City Hotel is a practical, budget-friendly base in Salalah if you care more about being near the city and getting around easily than having resort-style luxury. Its urban location suits business trips, short stopovers, or anyone wanting quick access to restaurants, shops, local markets, and the main roads. After a long day exploring Dhofar, the rooms are comfortable enough to rest in, though the general feel is simple and functional. Being close to the city can save time during Khareef, when traffic around popular attractions gets heavier. Cafés, supermarkets, pharmacies, and local places to eat are also nearby, which makes everyday errands and meals easy. This is a city budget hotel, not a beach resort or luxury property. Rooms and facilities can feel basic depending on the category, so a recently updated room or one on a higher floor may make for a better stay, especially when it's busy. It's a straightforward option for affordable accommodation, convenient access, and a calm local setting for a short, practical visit to Salalah or Dhofar during Khareef.

We had a good stay in a suite and a standard room for five nights, from August 8th to 13th. The rooms were nice and clean, and reception staff, especially Yaza, were helpful and cooperative. There were a few minor issues, but they were sorted out quickly. The Wi-Fi signal in the rooms was weak and could be improved. I'd be happy to come back and stay again.

Our family stay at City Hotel didn't meet our expectations. The rooms and bathrooms seemed dated, and some amenities weren't working as they should. The air conditioning wasn't functioning properly, and staff didn't resolve it after we reported the problem. Some bathroom fittings also weren't working properly. With these issues, we can't recommend it for family accommodation right now. There's a lot that could be improved to make guests more satisfied.

Neat, clean rooms at an affordable price, and plenty of restaurants close by. It's the best hotel, great value for money. Once you've stayed here, you won't choose another hotel next time.

I stayed just one night and had a good experience. The room was spacious and spotless, with a comfortable king-sized bed, quality linens, a flat-screen TV, and the amenities I needed. The bathroom was impressive too. There are several car rental services nearby. The one drawback is that the hotel is a bit far from the airport.
