The outdoor spaces are a real draw, with palm-lined gardens, a large pool, open areas, and direct beach access. The historic fort-inspired design gives the place a charming Omani coastal resort feel. At sunrise, the waves and sea breeze make the beachfront especially peaceful. It seems well suited to families, weekend breaks, or road travelers between Muscat and the UAE border. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, although parts of the hotel show their age next to newer 4-star options in Oman. Some areas have traditional charm rather than modern luxury, and a sea-facing room or one on the quieter side may make the stay better. Dining beside the beach at sunset is memorable, with the pool reflecting the evening light and the cool breeze adding to the relaxed atmosphere. The staff are friendly and approachable, with genuine hospitality. For a beachfront stay near Sohar Corniche, this is a peaceful, scenic option, especially if you value room to spread out and beautiful views over ultra-modern decor.

We had a wonderful stay and really appreciated the warm welcome from the team. Mr. Bernard was especially helpful and went out of his way to make things comfortable and enjoyable. The staff were attentive and supportive throughout. They surprised us by arranging one of the best sea-view rooms, which was spotless, well cared for, and very comfortable. Housekeeping was prompt and thorough, and room service was excellent during our stay.

I loved how peaceful it was, and the sunrise from the spot right by the beach was beautiful. The room was extremely comfortable, and Bernard at reception was friendly and helpful. My only suggestions are to give this amazing property a little more maintenance and offer better breakfast choices with live cooking.

The staff were incredibly kind, and they're the reason I'm giving this place three stars instead of the two it should get. The room itself was clean and huge, with more storage than I've ever seen in a hotel room, so I have no complaints about it. But the price is far too high for what's here. Half the price would fit the quality better. Most of the property seems abandoned, with much of it closed, unused, and falling apart. It looks like it was lovely years ago, but the deterioration is obvious now. The pool wasn't usable because gulls had made it their daily hangout. It was cute watching their pool parties, but the water was cloudy and we weren't going in. The tennis courts are run down, the outdoor area is a mess, there's no grass left, and even the palms look like they may not last. The beach in front is rocky and full of trash, though the crabs were hilarious. It may have been beautiful five years ago, but the lovely photos don't match what it's like now.

I booked Sohar Beach Hotel through Booking.com under reservation number 6747234893, and the stay was far from what the listing showed. The WiFi was very bad, there was no buffet, and breakfast was empty. The swimming pool was extremely dirty, with a dead fish and a rat in it. I didn't feel the place was safe for families with children. Staff showed no empathy and took no action. I attached photos and videos as evidence. This experience didn't meet the standards described in the listing, which I believe was misleading. I demand a full refund as compensation for this booking.
