Grand Hyatt Muscat Hotel

The service was brilliant, and the staff were kind, helpful, and a pleasure to deal with. They were especially lovely with our baby. We also liked the spacious, clean rooms and the very good breakfast. The Grand Hyatt is comfortable and beautiful, with high ceilings, large stained-glass windows looking onto the pool, and a horseman statue holding a falcon. It has a traditional feel, while still being comfortable. The family pool is a good size, with a lazy river around the outside, a separate children's pool, fountains, and a wooden ship to climb on.

The hotel felt arrogant, as though it was relying on its reputation instead of delivering quality. The lowest-paid staff were actually the kindest and most helpful people there. Cleanliness also fell short of what I’d expect from somewhere presented as one of Muscat’s best. It’s extremely expensive, and the service and quality don’t justify the price. Even simple requests were difficult to arrange, and staff often said things weren’t possible, so basic issues took unnecessary discussion. I also didn’t find the hotel Muslim-friendly, which made the stay uncomfortable compared with what I expected in Muscat. The Grand Hyatt Muscat was a very disappointing experience. It felt like a waste of money, I won’t return, and I can’t recommend it based on my stay.

The food had a healthy feel and a good range of choices, which I appreciated. Shabib at reception was welcoming, helpful, and professional, and made a great first impression with his personality. The place is modern, beautiful, and comfortable, with wonderful hospitality. Everything about my stay felt perfect. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The lobby was quiet and elegant, breakfast was great, and the whole place felt comfortable and well kept. The calm, welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff made for a wonderful stay. I’d planned to stay three nights, but the service was so good I added another four and ended up staying a full week. That says a lot. Highly recommended for a relaxing getaway.
