The garden and back balcony were a lovely part of our stay at Downtown Suites, and we had a great four nights there. Joshua and the rest of the staff were welcoming, capable, and helpful. We’d happily come back. A BBQ under the backyard gazebo and a do-it-yourself laundry option would make the place even better. 🙂

The rooms were comfortable and clean, and having a kitchenette beside our own sitting area with a pull-out couch, TV, and little dining table was handy. The hotel is also safe, convenient, and close enough to walk around town, with a nice back porch and garden. What really stood out was Josue’s help: he collected us at David airport, arranged tours, and even came along to help us find a pharmacy at night, just a few blocks away. I’d recommend this small hotel, and I’m especially grateful for his customer service.

We found it easy to get around from this spot right in the middle of town, and it was pet friendly too. The service was fantastic, with the staff going out of their way to help us have a good stay. The price was reasonable, and we’d definitely return.

The roosters were my main gripe. With the windows open, there was no escaping them once they started crowing at 3:30 am, apparently without much sense of time. There’s no AC, which makes sense since nights cool down, but the room gets very warm in the daytime. If you can get a room like #4, with a patio door onto the courtyard, you’ll be happy. The rooms aren’t all alike.

The grounds are lovely for taking it easy, and I enjoyed reading in the hammock. It’s near the main street, market, and gardens, yet stays quiet. Josue was wonderful and suggested things to see and do, then arranged for us to be picked up at the hotel. The kitchen is good and has the necessities, though it’s sparsely equipped. A real treasure for the price, especially with a discount.
