Bahia del Sol

We spent a week at Bahia del Sol, away from Bocas Town, and would gladly come back. The bay view from bed was lovely. Our upstairs room had a covered balcony overlooking the water, with a table, two chairs, and a hammock, plus a wide whirlpool tub. The covered outdoor shower connects to the bedroom and has strong pressure and hot water. The bedroom is spacious, with a king bed, a corner desk, and a closet with plenty of shelves and wooden hangers. There’s no AC, but the powerful fan kept us cool. David, the owner, has managed in hospitality and was attentive to making our stay comfortable and enjoyable.

We planned on just two nights at Bahia del Sol, then extended because we loved David’s hospitality and the private dock with hammocks. He’s a great guy and very accommodating. There’s a supermarket close by, while getting into town takes about a 15-minute walk. We loved staying here and would absolutely recommend it.

David, the owner, was friendly and attentive, and the inside of the place was clean and adequate. Still, we booked four nights and left after just one. It felt more like a backpackers lodge than a villa or hotel, and the location wasn’t appealing. Trash was scattered throughout the surrounding area, including in the water beneath the house. It’s also more than a mile from downtown Bocastown.

The waterfront setting and view were wonderful, and David, the kind and helpful host and manager, went out of his way to keep all the guests happy and entertained. The house was tidy, well equipped, and had clean, comfortable beds. Its location was convenient for visiting and exploring. We made some great memories here.
