Caribbean Villages Apartments

We got help right away whenever we had a question or a small problem, and the service was excellent. The apartment was roomy, too, and the accommodation is in a very central spot in Bocas del Toro.

We rented a 2 bedroom flat. They let us check in late, and all the AC units worked. That was about it for the positives. The flat was dirty, and even after we asked them to clean it and they said they had, it was still very dirty. The towels were dirty as well. From one of the windows we could see a broken-down fridge or kitchen appliance on the patio. The place is run down and needs updating, especially the kitchen equipment and bathroom. I wouldn't recommend it.

The room itself was good, but after advertising the place as dog friendly, the manager made me feel awful for bringing my two very well-behaved dogs. I offered to leave for somewhere else, but he said it was fine and charged me 15.00 per dog per night. I was tired from travelling and didn't have much choice. He also said the owner would be angry if he knew dogs were there. I wouldn't recommend this place, and they should remove “pet friendly” from their website.

We booked 6 nights, but the apartment was dirty, had mold in the bathroom, and had the lowest standard of furniture we've ever seen in a room offered to paying customers. The balcony doors wouldn't lock with the handle, only with the wooden board they provided. We asked management to let us stay one night and leave the next day. Instead, they threw us out straight away, without even giving us 2 minutes to find another room. It was already 8pm. They turned off the ACs while we were still inside, took the remotes, and told us to leave immediately. In hindsight, things worked out for us because we found a hotel with a significantly higher standard for less than 10$ more per night for each of us. I definitely wouldn't consider booking Caribbean Village Apartment. The issue wasn't just that we expected more for 100 dollars a night, but the way the staff treated us when we told them we were unhappy with the situation.
