Breakfast was a highlight, with fruit, eggs and toast or pancakes, plus fresh orange or pineapple juice, tea, or coffee. Our room was clean and spacious, with a harbor and sea view. You can hear the boats and launches, but that comes with the setting. The colonial style isn’t modern, though everything was functional. Duricel welcomed us warmly and was so helpful. We had a lovely stay, and the restaurant food was 10/10.

Traveling alone, I felt looked after here. The locals checked where I was headed and what I was interested in, which helped me feel safe, especially if you speak some Spanish, French, or English. The place sits right by the water in the lively middle of Bocas Town. It isn't quiet, but that bustle is part of the Caribbean feel. I met great people and got the kind of local experience I wanted, rather than just ticking off a destination.

My sister and I lost a lot of money to the tour operators working at this hotel. We had even checked that they ran a reputable business, but they still cheated us. They called it a misunderstanding, though it wasn't. It felt like a clear scam targeting tourists. There are plenty of other tour options nearby, so avoid these operators.

The restaurant has a stunning view that made meals feel special. The place was spotless, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming 🙌🏻. It's right in the heart of town, so everything you need is easy to get to.
