Coronado Luxury Club & Suite (ex:Coronado Golf & Beach Resort)

The pools were a highlight, with gentle music playing nearby. Staff were lovely, the rooms were clean and had fresh air conditioning, and the restaurants offered lots of food choices.

There’s plenty to do here, from tennis and swimming to the spa and golf course. The people are kind and ready to help whenever you need it.

I’ve been here three times a year, so I can tell this hotel isn’t what it used to be. On my last visit the room looked nice, but it smelled like it hadn’t been used in a while, and my whole family had allergies that night. We stayed two nights and had no toilet paper, soap, or shampoo until we asked for them. The beds could be better, though the service at the beach club was very nice. They told us we didn’t need a reservation because plenty of rooms were available. That was true, but at checkout they charged more than the amount agreed on by phone. Get the rate confirmed in writing.

I used to stay here every time and really enjoyed it. That ended after our last visit. We checked out after a week, went into town, then came back for dinner to say goodbye to the “nice” staff. We’d been seated and ordered food and drinks when they asked us to leave. They actually made us get up after we’d ordered. I still can’t make sense of it, and at this point I don’t care to. I won’t return, join the club, or have anything to do with this place. There are dozens of more welcoming places around. I’d avoid it for anything beyond golf on the brown grass.
