Novotel Panama City

The room was clean and roomy, the location was great, and breakfast had plenty of delicious options. The staff were wonderful throughout, from the friendly check-in team to the rest of the hotel. Free parking was a nice extra. I had a great experience and will be back.

The buffet breakfast was very basic for a hotel in this category. I also had to ask to move because the first room was simply uninhabitable. They handled that well and moved me to a much larger, better-kept suite, though its furniture was still old-fashioned and worn.

I had arranged an early check-in, but they put me in Room 208, where the window faced several air-conditioning units. The noise was extremely loud and unbearable. At the front desk, I asked if that was really my reserved room and made it clear I was unhappy, asking to switch. The staff said the hotel was full, then gave me a contemptuous smile that felt like nationality-based discrimination. This was deeply unpleasant and unacceptable. I want a proper explanation and a resolution.

Reception staff were friendly, the rooms were spacious, and the location and free parking were good. Still, the standard felt unacceptable and more like a budget hotel. The walls were thin, there was a musty or moldy smell, and maintenance seemed lacking, with bulbs out and a reading light that wouldn’t stay in place. The coffee was subpar and breakfast was low quality. It’s shocking how poorly Accor manages its properties.
