Hotel Posada Destiladeros

The setting is lovely and very quiet, with the rooms and cabins perched on a bluff above beautiful Los Destiladeros beach. Each room is different, but they’re comfortable and have small refrigerators. There’s a pool, and a semi-private beach is within walking distance. Breakfast was included and very good. There aren’t really amenities, so bring your own food and snacks. The town is about 15 minutes away. They’ll serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner on request.

A rustic little gem at reasonable prices, with an unbeatable location among gorgeous vegetation and views of a great beach. The water is rough, so it’s not ideal for swimming, but the scenery is amazing. Rooms are super comfortable, the food is delicious, and the people are very nice. It’s family-owned and cared for like a family jewel, with outstanding service. Chef Brian makes well-balanced dishes with lovely presentation. The fried fish and tostones were the best, and the broiled mero with garlic sauce was delicious. The menu isn’t huge, but there’s enough for meat, fish, and vegetable eaters. The chocolate and strawberry ice cream was delicious too, not too sweet or too dark. Alberto, who works reception and waits tables, gave great service. I’d rate this a four-star lodge and five stars for the food.

The cabin had wonderful beach views, and we fell asleep to waves breaking on the shore. The beach wasn’t crowded and was perfect for bathing. Posada is right in front of the beach, a hidden gem and just the place for a relaxing stay. We really loved our time there and felt we’d picked the perfect spot. The food was great, and you could tell the staff really care about guests. I can’t recommend it enough!

We spent five nights here and didn’t want to leave. It’s a simple, rustic boutique hotel with 12 rooms spread across several buildings and cottages. Even during a holiday week, the beautiful beach was almost deserted. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and everything we tried from the kitchen at breakfast, lunch, and dinner was delicious. Watching the sunset and listening to the waves from one of the gazebos above the beach was breathtaking.
