The garden is nice and kid-friendly, and we came with our two-year-old. The location is nice too, though you can find that elsewhere. Service was poor. I’d paid cash for three nights, but when heavy rain led us to leave a day early, her response was basically that we had to leave tomorrow and she wouldn’t return the money. There was no communication. If you want a friendly host, this isn’t the place. As a long-term traveler, I haven’t met many hosts like that. Also, the kitchen is locked while they sleep, so keep that in mind if you want a snack at night. The garden is nice, though, and the attached photo is from today in the heavy rain.

Very clean rooms, a large kitchen, and friendly hosts. They also have parking for motorhomes with kitchen access. Excellent hostal, recommended, and I’ll be back.

Victor is always around to answer questions and help, and the prices are good. For this price range it’s the cleanest hostal I’ve found, with a big kitchen and a very central location. The dorm is basic but has good airflow. Just expect lots of insects to come in if you turn on the light at night.

Victor is lovely and very helpful with advice on what to do and how to get around. The property is big and lovely, on a quiet road in the centre, and has a well-equipped kitchen and good WiFi. It’s much cheaper than the other hostels nearby, so great for backpackers. The dorms are basic but have what you need for a good stay, except a mirror. 100% recommend!

We were moved here from our originally booked Hostal La Qhia, and I don’t think the owner of Hostal Bulabá was expecting us. The room was a little dirty, with dead cockroaches under the bed and dust, and there was no WiFi. Insect screens on the windows would be nice too. On the plus side, the host was very nice, even though he didn’t speak English, and he upgraded us for free to a room with a private bathroom. The accommodation is in the “center” of Santa Fe and has a nice terrace. You can use the kitchen and washing machine for free.
