Hotel Anachoreo

The road to Santa Fe is being improved a lot, with some stretches already paved and others still being worked on. You don’t need a 4x4 to get there. The hotel is cozy and has a beautiful view of the Santa Fe mountains, and breakfast was good, especially the delicious pancakes.

Dinner at Hotel Anachoreo was one of our highlights, the best meal we had in Santa Fe, with delicious Cambodian food from the owner, Sineth. The views from the hotel are beautiful, and it’s about a 10-minute walk from the pueblo, close enough to reach easily but far enough out to see the surrounding mountains. My simple, clean room was well maintained, and breakfast was hearty, with eggs, fruit, and pancakes. Thanks to Sineth and her team for such warm hospitality and an enjoyable stay in early February.

You can take in the spectacular mountain views from the hammocks outside the rooms, the outdoor seating area, or the dining room. This small, comfortable hotel is quiet and peaceful, with simple clean rooms and delicious breakfast. Truly a gorgeous spot.

The hotel has an excellent view over the mountains and valley. Communication with the staff can be difficult sometimes, but eventually things get done. One thing to know, if you’re a Panama resident, they won’t give the Pensionado discount on hotel rooms.
