The bed cover was really dusty, and a leak at the base of the toilet kept leaving the floor wet. There was also a missing pane in the bathroom window, so hallway noise came through. The staff shouted to each other between the first and third or fourth floors and ran heavily up and down the stairs. Noise carries easily here, and they showed little regard for guests, acting like kids. I saw a couple who had paid for two nights get their belongings put outside after the first night. The hotel insisted they'd only paid for one and tried to change the price, even though the couple showed receipts and Airbnb emails confirming the two-night charge. The hotel didn't care. They also initially refused to give me breakfast, saying it wasn't included. I showed them my Airbnb reservation, which said it was, and they reluctantly served two pieces of bread and a drink. Update: The place later left a completely false Airbnb review accusing me of things I never did. I couldn't hate it more now.

I came to Aguas Calientes for the first time with my Korean friend, and the service was terrible. The towels arrived very late, and they didn't provide soap or shampoo. When I asked for a glass of hot water, they said, “We can't help you right now.” I then asked for the complaints book, but the receptionist said, “Why? I can't.” I'm from Peru, and I really, really don't recommend this hotel. There are better ones here. Greetings.

A disaster. The room had barely any water and no soap or towels, so I had to ask reception for those. The promised 5 a.m. breakfast never materialized. Nobody was there, the kitchen was dark, and it took 20 minutes after I called reception for a half-asleep employee to show up. They said tourists had been waiting for breakfast, but everything was dark and switched off. Very unprofessional. Find somewhere else; Aguas Calientes is lovely, and this hotel spoils it. The location is the one good thing, although in such a small town everywhere is close. Regards.

Disgusting. I'd rather sleep on the street. The pillow had a blood stain, and the blankets clearly hadn't been washed. It's a shame that dumps like this damage the reputation of the hotel industry, which is known worldwide for good service. Never stay in this flea pit.

The first thing they do when you arrive is charge you. In our room, the toilet was full of hair and hadn't been flushed. When I complained, they only wiped it with a cloth, and I had to ask them to use proper cleaning products. That night we found blood and other yellow stains on the sheets, and stains on the towels too. When I asked for the manager, they put the owner on the phone because there was NO ONE IN CHARGE there. He raised his voice, said I could leave if I didn't like it, and called me a “ridiculous Spaniard.” It was 11 p.m., and we had an early first-shift visit to Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu the next day. I went to the police station and filed a report. The officer acted quickly and confirmed in person and by phone, after speaking with the manager, that there were several irregularities. The manager confirmed that their solution was to leave us out on the street, even though the negligence was theirs. The receptionist didn't know what a complaints book was, and the payment receipts were incomplete, so we had no proof of payment. Other guests said they'd had no hot water for two days, and the problem still hadn't been fixed despite their reports. The matter is now with the authorities. I hope they act with the same professionalism, consistency, and speed as the officer who dealt with our complaint.
