The room we’d booked wasn’t there, although Booking showed full availability. The receptionist was rude and no help at all, so we chose not to stay. A very unpleasant experience, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

We had a plumbing accident, which is why I’m giving four stars. Otherwise, I’d recommend it. The rooms were clean, the simple breakfast was still pretty good, and the reception staff were very helpful.

It’s right in the middle of everything: two minutes from the train station and buses to Machu Picchu, with restaurants and markets just seconds away. It was very loud, though, so bring earplugs if you want to rest. The price felt affordable for how clean and updated the hotel was. Staff were friendly and accommodating, and breakfast was standard. Our stay in Aguas Calientes was as expected.

For the price, it wasn’t a terrible hotel. The room was a bit small, but that was fine for one night. What wasn’t fine was the awful smell. Opening the windows didn’t help, and the street was loud enough that we could hear everything. Bring earplugs.

We asked to stay one more night, but they were full, so they offered us a late checkout instead. Then they said they wanted 50% of the price of a full extra night for just a few more hours. I wasn’t happy with that service.
