We felt comfortable the whole time, even though our Spanish isn’t very good. The owners made sure we had everything we needed, and were lovely along with the house and its garden. The place was spotless, with a really comfortable bed, a hot shower, and fast Wi-Fi. This has been our favorite stay so far in South America. Thanks to the owners for making it so pleasant!

The staff were friendly and always willing to help, and our comfortable room had its own bathroom and was very clean. Breakfast was excellent, too. It’s a good place to stay, around a 30-40 minute walk or a 10-15 minute cab ride from downtown. We had a good experience and would recommend it 100%.

The owners were extremely friendly and helpful, though they don’t speak English. That wasn’t a problem for us since we were trying to learn. The garden and patio are nice places to relax, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the Wi-Fi worked well throughout. The only drawback is that it’s about a 30-minute walk from central Arequipa. The owners are happy to order taxis, though, and they arrive promptly and cost little. Casa Baraquel is a great place to unwind.

I came for two days and ended up making myself leave after 15. The family was the friendliest I’ve met, and after two months of staying in different hotels every day, this was easily my favorite place in Peru. The rooms look onto a garden, the neighborhood is quiet, and the city center is still within walking distance. Breakfast was excellent, and the hotel is bicycle-friendly. Search no further, this is the best place in town!
