La Hostería

The location is excellent, just a 5-minute walk from great restaurants and the monastery, the main attraction. This old building is kept in good shape, and the colorful surroundings are full of plants and look gorgeous. Our room was a good size, with a very comfy bed and cushions. Breakfast had plenty of food, and there were always free teas and infusions at reception. I'd happily recommend staying here.

Booking an hour in the pool, sauna, and jacuzzi was very reasonably priced, and we had the whole place to ourselves. My queen room was the nicest one we had on our entire trip around Peru. The garden inside the hotel was peaceful and full of gorgeous flowers, and breakfast was excellent. It's a lovely little oasis in the busy city. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Arequipa.

The lobby is cute and the hotel is clean, but the room had a stained bathtub, a loose rusty nail in the floorboards that nearly punctured me, a wood-burning stove with no wood in winter, and a TV remote that didn't work. There were lots of little things they should have noticed and fixed. The hostel we stayed at in Cusco was just as nice. In my opinion, this is closer to a 2-star than a 3-star hotel.

We were six people, and all of us enjoyed our stay in this romantic old place. Flowers were everywhere, and the staff and service were so pleasant, polite, and knowledgeable. Arequipa is a wonderful city, with amazing places to visit and beautiful landscapes and surroundings. Thank you for having us.
