The Monte Cristo has a welcoming, family feel and is close to the Plaza Armas. Friendly people, a great breakfast, and excellent value.

We were promised an American breakfast, but there was no coffee or butter for the bread. I didn't see anything that even resembled a North American breakfast. We paid for two nights, so we'll see if they get it right the second morning.

Good souvenirs, and I'd recommend this three-star hotel. The price is good, and it's very accessible for exploring Arequipa on foot.

Absolutely terrible hotel. A political party played loud music all day, the service was poor, and they didn't care about the guests.

A nice, cosy, safe place to stay in Arequipa.
