Orosheam San Agustin

It's very central, about two blocks from Arequipa's main square. There's a bus stop right on the corner, with several companies running buses to different places.

The room and beds were clean, as were the shared bathrooms, and the location is central with public transport easy to catch outside. But I found the Wi-Fi terrible: it didn't reach my room, and staff seemed unaware of the problem and weren't interested in helping. There was a horrible, lingering food-like smell throughout the place, strongest in my room, even though there was no food nearby. My room faced the street, so morning noise was annoying. The hot water never worked, the TV picture was awful, and I could hear everything in the next room. For a similar price, I think there are better places nearby.

I won't be coming back. The location is near the main square, but there was noise at night. I asked for a private bathroom and the woman first tried to give me a shared one. I insisted, and only then got the room I wanted. Staff treated me with disdain, as if paying guests were an inconvenience. I only saw the person who attended to me in the morning, and they didn't give me a receipt for my payment. They claim to have a solar water heater, but I got a cold shower. The shower handle sticks when you try to close it and keeps dripping, and there's no cable. This hotel is a complete rip-off. Never stay there.

The room they gave me wasn't the one I reserved. It was shut in and cave-like, and I could hear other guests talking at night. There were no trash cans or dishcloths for drying the bathroom, and there was no hot water, cable TV, or internet. The price also wasn't what Booking.com listed: the hotel used its own exchange rate of 3.8 soles per dollar, adding 12 soles to the price on its website. It is close to the center.
