The woman at the front desk was lovely, always greeting us with a smile, and the outdoor area was pretty. That still couldn't make the room situation bearable. Rooms were freezing and damp, with mold on the walls, broken bathroom rails, and duvets without covers. Those aren't acceptable conditions to live in. If they'd put even half the money spent on the waiting area into fixing the rooms, this could be a nice hotel. I wouldn't recommend it.

We were given a triple room at no extra charge after asking to switch from our twin single room to a double, since we needed space for a big suitcase. The front desk woman couldn't find a double available, but she was so friendly and helpful about it. We're very happy and grateful. This is a cozy little budget boutique hotel, with great service, prices, and location. I'd recommend this lovely place to anyone traveling to kusco.

The room needs major renovation, with crumbling walls and a barely usable bathroom with a broken toilet. Bars or clubs nearby were noisy until 2:30 a.m. Check the room before you check in, since it may not look like the website photos, and bring earplugs. The good parts were the location, just a few minutes from Plaza Mayor, the friendly owner and staff, and the guest seating areas and covered courtyard.

The staff were kind and supportive throughout, and check-in began with a warm welcome and a refreshing cup of tea. Our rooms were spacious, very clean, and neatly organized. The garden and relaxation area were peaceful, with plenty of tables and chairs, plus a station for making tea or coffee. Breakfast was splendid too. One thing I'd add is hair dryers in the rooms. In this mountainous area the temperature drops quickly, and drying long hair can be challenging. Apart from that small inconvenience, our stay was delightful. I'd wholeheartedly recommend the hotel for an enjoyable, memorable visit.

The cold was the hardest part of our June stay, which is winter there. The building is drafty, and the open layout means the area outside your room feels like outdoors, though it's covered. Bring your warmest clothes for after dark, and layers for the day as it gets warmer. Our room felt warmer after we covered the bathroom window with a towel, blocked the draft under the door, and ran a warm shower at night, which also added moisture to the dry room. We were on the first floor and had hot water every day. There are stairs upstairs, so heavy luggage could be difficult. The hotel's just a few blocks from the main square. We visited during parades, and people were setting up and practicing on the street. Across the road is club Maximo, with lovely fountains and a nice place to walk and rest. I used a room photo from another review, but ours looked the same. The furniture isn't new, as another guest mentioned, but it fits the atmosphere, with saint pictures on the walls and well-loved pieces. Modern furniture wouldn't suit the decor. Staff could help in English and were very helpful, keen to meet guests' needs. Ask if you need something; they'll help if they can. We got tips on places to visit and eat, and she even wrote out a note about the city tour. Breakfast had eggs, bread, cheese, meat, fruit, tea, and coffee. Hot water for tea was available all day, including a dispenser in the lobby outside my room. The front desk sold bottled water at a reasonable price. We ate in the dining room one night. It wasn't busy, and the prices were good. The food was fresh, plentiful, delicious, and included local dishes. I don't know whether outside visitors can eat there, but I'd choose it over the restaurant across the street. The menu was limited, but the prices were better. For security, the front door is regularly locked, so you press the call button to get in. You walk past the desk and dining room to reach the rooms, and they respond quickly. The room door only had its regular lock, with no extra locks. There was no safe in the room, but they'll provide one if you ask. The internet worked well the first day, then went out and didn't work after that. The TV was typical, but we couldn't connect much. Netflix wouldn't let us log in, and there was a free trial for a mirror app, so we watched YouTube instead.
