Palla Boutique Hotel

The rooftop terrace has lovely views of the mountains around Arequipa, and breakfast up there was very good. My room was clean, the place felt cozy, and the service and communication were good too. Since my bus arrived at 5am, they arranged an early check-in for a fee. They also gave me a takeaway breakfast on departure day because I was leaving early.

We liked the food at the restaurant, especially the creole soup, and the gym was decent for cardio and weights. The rooftop terrace is a real plus, with lovely views and a relaxing place to sit. Breakfast was good, the hotel was clean, and the beds were comfortable. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful, and it’s only a few minutes’ walk to the main square. Two things could be improved. Our first room was directly under the terrace, and we woke early each morning to what sounded like staff moving furniture. Also, the downstairs restaurant gets cold at night. Bi-fold doors to section it off and heat it would help.

The building was clean and nicely designed, the staff were friendly, and the views and breakfast were good. They refilled the water every day. The gym was basic, but at least it was there. My room stayed hot because there was no way to get air moving through it. I could open the window onto the hallway, but that raised privacy and security concerns.

Breakfast on the roof was a highlight, with delicious food and beautiful views of Arequipa and the mountains. We found the staff warm and attentive, and felt welcome the whole time. The hotel is also very well placed, just a short walk from the main sights and good restaurants. We had a wonderful three-night stay at Palla Boutique Hotel.
