The terrace breakfast was lovely, though traffic noise sometimes interrupted it. That’s down to being in central Arequipa, rather than the hotel. Our rooms and the other facilities were clean. I don’t understand why some people call the hosts unfriendly. We found them welcoming, helpful, and kind. Our Spanish isn’t great, but they made an effort despite the language barrier. We had some lovely chats with them, and the atmosphere felt warm and almost family-like.

The location worked well, close to central Arequipa but just beyond the hustle and bustle. Staff were helpful with local tips and flexible when I needed to change a few details.

We could use the kitchen and do our laundry here, and had an incredible brunch made with fruit from the market five minutes away. The owners were really sweet, and the service was great. The terrace was amazing, with views of the big mountains capped with snow. We had such a good stay and would have loved to stay longer.

The staff were amazing, always available for questions and happy to explain what to see in Arequipa. I really felt at home. The terrace has a beautiful view over the volcanoes, and the bed was comfortable and warm. There was plenty of hot water in the shower, even at the sink. You can walk to Plaza de Armas in about five minutes, while staying far enough from the noisiest, most touristy area. I definitely recommend it.

We spent three days in Arequipa and had a great time at the hostel. It’s a lovely place in the center, close to a market and the plaza de Armas, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. We’d come back anytime.
