Hotel Peruvians House

The room was simple and clean, and the gentleman at reception gave excellent service. The shower had good pressure and the hot water was very hot. Breakfast was delivered to the room at the time we asked for. It’s very basic, but great for the price. The mattress felt a little hard, though I personally like that and slept well. The hotel is very near the old Jorge Chavez airport. I’d tell the taxi driver to go to Parque Italia off of Avenida Peru instead of relying on the address or map location. The park out front has recently been renewed and is a nice place to walk. We didn’t feel unsafe in the area. There’s also a mercado and several restaurants nearby.

The host was patient, greeted me warmly, and helped with my bags, making sure I had what I needed. I was traveling alone and felt safe when I arrived, despite an Uber driver warning me about the area and hotel. The price was great, the place was clean and spacious, and my shower had plenty of hot water. Free breakfast, too.

The place is near the airport, but getting there was a mess because the address was wrong on Expedia and the street name was also wrong on Google Maps, even though the map pin was right. We ended up paying for two taxis, then two separate Ubers the following day because the address and email they gave us were wrong. I can't understand how a business gets its own address wrong. The street is Avellno, close to the airport. Avelino is the street 20 minutes away.

The bathrooms weren't clean, and the place needs maintenance. Several doors wouldn't close, including the front entrance, which I only noticed in the morning. There's also a metal door between the rooms and lobby that stays locked until staff lets you out. We waited a couple of minutes while they were asleep. That could be a serious problem in a fire. It's handy for the airport, but I'd stay somewhere else.
