Inside, once I’d locked the door, I felt comfortable. The owners were friendly, and the space was big, more like a studio. For an overnight airport stay, it’s one of the better value options around. I know some tourists say they dislike this area, but to me it didn’t seem different from other parts of Lima. When I arrived at 10:30 pm, kids were still playing in a playground a block away. I gave it four stars because it could have been cleaner. It felt as though nobody had used the place for a while, and it hadn’t been dusted or checked before I arrived. One thing that wasn’t the owner’s fault: a neighbor across the street was sitting outside in a corner with an aggressive dog loose. I had to wait for it to go away, and he didn’t even call it back while it followed me.
