Wyndham Grand Costa Del Sol Lima Airport

Juan Carlos helped us store our luggage because we arrived early in the morning before check-in. He was a friendly, informative concierge and spoke both languages. He also arranged our last-minute city tour of Lima with InPeru. The private tour was incredible, and we only got to have that experience thanks to Juan Carlos.

My stay on April 20 went well, thanks in part to a very helpful, friendly male receptionist whose name I unfortunately didn’t get, along with the concierge. I’d booked the Holiday Inn for tonight and tomorrow, but after that easy, pleasant stay I switched and booked here instead. It wasn’t cheap compared with other hotels in Peru, especially given the money I lost on the Holiday Inn. I came to check in early, around midday instead of 2pm, and Sabrina gave me a flat no. Other reviewers have said she isn’t especially helpful or friendly, and that was my experience too. I don’t believe for a minute that they were fully booked the night before. I would have considered paying for an early check-in, but she didn’t offer that. She just told me to come back at 1pm, with no guarantee a room would be available, and couldn’t tell me either way. Surely some guests with early flights had already checked out. I didn’t want to keep going back and forth if there might not even be a room. I’d paid for two nights, and last time I was only in my room from 8pm to 11am. I didn’t use any facilities or take the welcome drink, so I felt they could have been flexible this time. It was super disappointing. I wish I’d stuck with the Holiday Inn instead of wasting my money here. I’d planned to use the paid spa services and room service, since this is my last stop and chance to relax before heading home to everyday chaos. Hopefully things improve, because otherwise it’ll be a long two nights. I won’t spend another penny there, and will have to keep going over to the airport. ☹️

My short stay in Lima turned out sweet after a difficult travel experience, and I’m extremely grateful to Wyndham Grand. The staff were five-star, the whole hotel was clean, and my room was comfortable and modern. I’d been traveling for many hours and needed to sleep around 3pm, but banging from maintenance work kept me awake. I asked the front desk when the workers would be done, hoping to go out for food and come back to rest before my next flight. They called someone, and the workers were sent home for the day. I hadn’t even asked them to do that, so I was completely surprised and grateful. I’ve never had that level of service at a hotel.

The people here were so nice and helpful. Special thanks to Miguel at the concierge desk, who stayed in touch and made sure we had what we needed when my wife was ill for a day. He arranged for a doctor to come to the room for treatment. Miguel, gracias! I hope to return one day. The hotel is also very convenient, with a quick walk to and from the airport, especially for late arrivals or early departures. You can easily buy sundries or other food right at the airport too. We liked the modern finishes in the rooms, the very comfortable bed, and how quiet the room was despite being next to an airport. The breakfast buffet was amazing, with a great variety of well-made food. It’s complimentary and open from 4am to 10am, sometimes later on weekends, and we enjoyed it every day. Both restaurant options were good as well. We tried the indoor restaurant with the full menu and the outdoor one with a lighter, more casual menu, and were impressed with the quality.
