Tayka Hostel

The location is great, but that's about the only good thing. My shower was ice cold, the rooms were chilly, and the breakfast was inedible. Terrible. Don't stay here.

For 16€ a night, we got a double room that was clean and had hot water and WiFi. Very well located, and great value for such a cheap price.

The hotel is a stone's throw from the center, and breakfast is a buffet with CNN in Spanish. But it was very cold inside, with large windows in front of the beds, and the small rooms feel packed to make the most of the space. The night was noisy, with doors slamming. Hot water was available in the evening and at night, but there wasn't much of it in the bathroom, and getting the settings right took some effort. You can rent a heater for 10 soles a night. Here, like everywhere in the city, people seem used to the cold and wear their jackets indoors.
