The owner was very kind and helped carry our luggage, which was appreciated since the check-in desk is on the second floor and breakfast is on the fifth. That climb could be hard for people with altitude sickness. The room was small and difficult to move around in. There was a black burn mark around the wall outlet, which made us nervous about charging our phones and camera batteries. Our travel agency had assured us there was hot water, but we didn't have any. The hotel was clean, and the water was very hot.

We stayed warm the whole time, thanks to the great blankets, and the shower water came out piping hot, which is especially welcome in Chivay. The hotel is half a block from the plaza, so it felt very convenient and safe to go out for dinner with the family. Breakfast starts at 5:30 am, handy for an early trip to the Colca. The staff were lovely, helped with our bags since there's no elevator, and always had coca tea ready. If you're a light sleeper, ask for an interior room. The street-facing rooms hear the town getting moving early. Highly recommended!

The room was spacious, the beds were comfortable, and we weren't cold at all. It's very close to the main square, so you can easily pop back if you forget something. Breakfast was generous and served promptly, which worked well for our sunrise tour. What stood out most was the service. I was feeling the altitude a bit when I arrived, and they brought coca tea to my room without me asking. Such a thoughtful touch.
