Casa Biru Hotel Boutique

Everything was close by, with the hotel near the historic center. Our rooms were very good and among the best we had in Peru on our trip around the country. Breakfast wasn't huge, but it had everything we needed. The staff were friendly and available whenever we needed them. Special thanks to Isabel, who made our stay outstanding. It was a great experience, many thanks to the team!

After traveling all day, we arrived at Casa Biru Boutique Hotel at 10:00 PM and were given a small, windowless room that smelled of mildew. We'd booked a particular room advertised with a balcony, fireplace, and spacious layout, so this was nothing like what we'd paid for. After asking the staff, we learned the front desk employee had taken the room we'd booked for herself. The hotel refused to move us to the correct room. We had to find another hotel that late and didn't even get to eat dinner. They did refund our money, but the dishonesty and lack of professionalism were unacceptable. The online photos are misleading, and in my experience the staff can't be trusted. If you book here, be prepared for what felt like a bait and switch, with no guarantee you'll get the room you paid for. I've included photos comparing what was advertised with the windowless room we were assigned.

The service was very good, and the hotel is close to the Plaza and lots of good restaurants. Breakfast was good too, with eggs made to order at the time you specify. The room was clean, and I liked the big, solid bed. Coming from the US, I found it odd that there was no heat in the rooms. We were there in June and it was kind of cold. Also, the toilet spit water out when flushed, which was yucky.

The location in the town center is fantastic, and the room was spacious and clean. I expected a charming boutique hotel from the high ratings, and on the surface it did look that way. But our room had only a skylight, no window, and the bathroom water pressure kept changing. I had to get the staff to fix it.
