Emperador Plaza

The rooms are clean, and ours had two single beds instead of a king or queen. But there’s no soundproofing, so noise carries from neighboring rooms. I had room 201 the first night and couldn’t sleep because of traffic, honking, and people yelling in the street. Bring earplugs if you need quiet to sleep.

Our family had 14 people staying here, and it felt almost like we had taken over a house. We spent time in the lovely first-floor coffee and gathering area, talking and laughing until 5 am. The building locks up at 11 pm for security, and there’s also a small seating space outside on the second floor. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they have coca leaves available for tea if the altitude is affecting you. The rooms all had different shapes, which made the place feel less cookie-cutter. We had different needs, so some of us got single rooms, others doubles, and some even triples. The room overlooking the street was the best. The hotel is about a block from Plaza de Armas, with restaurants, pharmacies, and places to exchange money nearby. We even met the City Mayor there and took a photo with him. We had a great visit and would stay again.

The location right by the city's main square was excellent, and the beds were very comfortable and heated. The bathrooms were nice, breakfast was good, and the price was affordable. The staff were very friendly and helped with everything I asked for, which made my stay more than pleasant.

For our Cuzco trip, this was just what my friends and I needed. We could walk to the Main Square whenever we wanted and be back at the hotel in a minute. The bedrooms were nice and comfortable, the staff were friendly and gave us useful recommendations, and breakfast was a great way to start the day. A good choice!
