At $12 a night, this was far better than I expected. The bed was comfortable and, though the room looked worn, it was clean. The electric shower stayed properly hot around the clock, unlike solar heaters where “hot” can mean local standards. Breakfast was basic, just bread, juice, and coffee or tea, but at that rate it costs less than many dorm beds in Cusco. It’s under ten minutes from the main square, close enough to walk around, yet quiet at night. We had a bit of a mix-up at check-in: Agoda showed USD, while the owner first gave a much higher conversion in PEN. We eventually sorted it out. Hard to beat for the money.

The people were very friendly, and our room was fine. The location was pleasant, though the climb was too much for us. Service could have been better: towels weren’t replaced, which was a real problem in the cold because they wouldn’t dry, and they didn’t refill the toilet paper either.

A good spot if you want to be away from Cusco’s buzz but still well located. The people running the hostel were lovely and helpful, and they have two cats. They were always ready with coca tea. Highly recommend!

We got plenty of sleep here, which we really needed after Machu Picchu and hiking rainbow mountain. It’s quiet, just five minutes from the main square. The hostel was very clean, and the friendly people running it made us feel safe and comfortable.
