Hacienda Libertad Cusco

The location is accessible, though the street isn't very well lit. Our three-bed room was uncomfortable because the floorboards and window creaked whenever we moved, and we went two days without towels. The room I had on my first stay was much more comfortable; this time, the room didn't match the photos, and not all rooms seem to do so. Breakfast was included, but there was confusion when we had a tour at 3:00 AM. One staff member said a cold breakfast could be left for us, while the woman serving early that morning said it wasn't possible. That would have been a useful service, as some other hotels offer it. My biggest issue was the service. Only one woman was kind and helpful; the rest of the staff treated my friends and me poorly. I also asked for an electronic receipt on checkout day and still hadn't heard back almost a week later.

The basic breakfast was really tasty, and our room was clean. The whole hotel always smelled nice, too. We stayed at Hacienda for two weeks, and the attention from Mileny, Jeni and Janete made our time in Cusco a completely different experience. The location is great, and I have only good things to say about our stay.

The bathroom was clean and the breakfast was basic, with bread, milk, coffee, butter, cheese, ham and fruit juice. But I wouldn't choose this place first on another trip to Cusco. The room was small, and though hot water worked sometimes, it was intermittent. At first, the bed had hair from other guests on it; staff changed the linens when we asked, but that left me questioning the accommodation's cleanliness. It's a 15-minute walk to the main square, along a dark street. It was okay just for somewhere to rest.

There's a luggage storage area if you need to head somewhere remote and can't take much with you. The hotel has Wi-Fi and a breakfast area open from 6 to 9 am, though there's no room service. Our room was small but clean, and it served its purpose as a place to rest. Staff were inconsistent: some days they were very friendly, other times they just handed over the key. It's fairly close to the commercial area, but the street is under construction right now. There's no hot water in the sinks, although the showers do have it.
