Hostelling International Cusco

The room was run-down, and there was no hot water. We could hear noise overhead all night, as we understand we were below a shared room. The atmosphere wasn't welcoming, and it didn't feel like good value for the money. We'd booked two nights ahead and paid half the cost, but when we arrived that night they gave us a different room. The young man on duty told the manager, who said our choices were to take the room available or leave at midnight, after we'd come back from Aguas Calientes, and find somewhere else. I don't recommend it. You can get something better elsewhere for that price.

The bathroom in our room looked dirty, and the hot water barely worked. They switched us out of the room we'd booked and already paid for. When we complained, they said, "If you don't like it, I'll refund your money and you can find somewhere else." It was 11 pm, and with our luggage we couldn't leave. A terrible experience.

La habitación privada que habíamos pagado se convirtió en compartida cuando volvimos de Machu Picchu. Llegamos a las 10 de la noche y no había agua caliente para ducharnos. La encargada nos dijo al día siguiente que nos fuéramos a otro hospedaje. Antes de eso, una noche nos despertaron a las tres de la mañana porque pensaban que teníamos un tour. El sitio está bastante limpio y tiene cocina, terraza y un lugar para tender ropa, pero tuvimos muchos problemas con el staff. Seguro que hay otras opciones por 50 soles, con habitación privada y baño privado, y mucha mejor atención que aquí.

The location is good, and there's a kitchen and a welcoming atmosphere. Mr. Marco gave excellent service. The only downside was the woman working during the day, who wasn't very friendly.
