The view is lovely, and breakfast in the morning is local and filling. If you need something, just ask. The owners don't speak English, but Google Translate worked for us. The rooms aren't up to Western standards, though for Peru they're great and have everything you might need, plus a bit more. The warm water runs once you work out how to get it. It's easy enough to reach, though cars have to stop about 200-300 m from the place.

The stay itself went smoothly, with a pleasant property, a great location, friendly staff, and an easy check-in. The serious problem came at checkout: we were charged roughly $400, about three times the $130 amount we had agreed to. The charge was made in the wrong currency, and we were rushing to catch a flight, so we didn't notice until we'd left. At first they apologized and said they'd resolve it, but then communication stopped. My calls and emails have gone unanswered for more than two months, and I still haven't received a refund. I can't tell whether this was gross negligence or something more deliberate, but either way it's unacceptable. I can't recommend staying here until they properly address and resolve this.

It's a good hotel at a very reasonable price, and the staff were attentive. My room was a duplex studio with a shower that worked well. The simple breakfast was good, though the bed linen could have been better quality, and I wasn't keen on the synthetic duvet cover. It's a bit of a climb, but close to San Blas viewpoint and only a short walk from the main square.

The views of the city are nice, and the place is quieter than many. It's around a 10-minute walk to Plaza de Armas, with some uphill sections. The room was clean and comfortable, with extra blankets, a heater, and a kitchenette with a fridge, stovetop, and kettle. Breakfast had limited choices but was fine overall. The hot water heater must be tiny, so keep your shower quick.
