Hotel Las Quenas

I stayed four nights and really loved it. The rooms were clean and big, the staff were so nice, and breakfast was included in the cheap price. Everything was perfect for me, best hotel ever!

We stayed at Las Quenas in June 2022, and it was one of my best hotel experiences, across hotel chains, family-run places, and hostels. My husband and I like quiet stays, and this little hotel was peaceful. The service was exceptional. Since it was our first time in Cusco, the staff introduced us to muna tea, gave us helpful recommendations, and answered all our questions. They took great care of us and made everything relaxed and enjoyable. When I had altitude sickness, they checked on me and told me a nurse was available if I got very sick. It's budget friendly, safe, and quiet, about a 20-minute walk from the center, with excellent service. Thank you, Freddy and the nice lady at the front desk!

The family running Las Quenas was caring and accommodating. When I felt altitude sick, they brought coca tea right to my room. I was very happy with my August 2022 stay, and it became one of my favorite places in Peru. The rooms were comfortable and had hot water. The location is about a 15-minute walk from everything, away from the center's noise. I preferred it there, since the constant car horns downtown would have made it hard to sleep.

We were really disappointed. The hotel felt cold and unwelcoming, and breakfast was very poor. It also felt almost empty; we saw just one other couple once. It's about a 25-minute walk from the center of Cusco, and there are many better choices downtown. Twice, our room wasn't cleaned despite the "please make up room" sign being on the door. I also reported a problem to a staff member at reception. She said she'd fix it, but when we returned nothing had been done and there was no note explaining why. The staff don't speak English. I don't understand all the positive reviews.
