The laundry was quick, and the staff were polite. The hairdryer and hot water worked fine. But the bathroom smelled so bad I didn’t want to spend time in it, and the packed breakfast they gave me was very poor. I didn’t get to try the restaurant breakfast because of my early schedule. The hotel felt gloomy and outdated throughout, from the decor and lighting to the furniture and bathroom. I didn’t even feel comfortable sitting on the chair. The shower curtain smelled awful, the clogged shower head sprayed water everywhere, and the drain was blocked. I could hear a lot from neighboring rooms, my window wouldn’t open, and the view from room 504 was unpleasant. The room was cold, and the only place to plug in the heater was the bathroom, which wasn’t practical. It’s far from the city center, with nothing nearby, so getting around was inconvenient. My tour operator, Exotica/Condor Travel, allocated me here, but it was easily the worst stay of my trip. I’d avoid it if you have any other option. It needs renovation and better maintenance.

Reception was helpful and arranged taxis and food delivery. The staff were nice, and there were plenty of warm blankets, a room heater, a safe and a good wardrobe for hanging jackets. Our first room was cold and damp, but they kindly moved us. Still, it’s a dark hotel, far from good restaurants and the main squares. The tub floor was uneven and hard to balance on, and the beds were too hard for me. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The room had only one light, and it barely worked. Its window faced the emergency staircase, so no daylight came in. At breakfast there was nobody to help, and I ended up making my own omelette in the kitchen. A really poor stay, and I definitely wouldn’t book here.

The rooms were lovely and quiet, and the housekeeping was immaculate. The concierge at the front desk was attentive and caring. It’s an easy twelve-minute walk to the square. Everything was wonderful, and I’d love to stay again.

The receptionists were very helpful, and the hotel was clean. It’s old, but the beds were comfortable, which mattered most to me. The bathtubs were dangerously high to climb into and too short for a bath. Breakfast was a letdown after our stay in Urubamba, where it was better, though still not great.
