They overbooked us and pushed us into a worse room without a private shower, then tried to charge extra for heating. The hot water barely worked, and none of the staff's promises came through. Cheap as it may be, this hostel is badly run and dishonest. Stay elsewhere.

Pretty good value for the money, but noise is the main drawback. If your room is near the breakfast prep area, you'll hear music blasting from 6 AM, which is rough.

The breakfast was better than the usual bread and margarine around here. We got juice, an egg, jam, and fruit too. The room was large and had its own toilet.

The courtyard is bright and airy, and the beds are comfortable with lots of blankets. There's even a wall mounted mini heater that works well. Most of the time I had hot water, though not on the morning I left. Laundry is done on site for just 3 soles per kilo, and the front desk staff were very nice. Breakfast is included, with coffee, tea, juice, bread, and either scrambled eggs or an egg and cheese roll, plus fruit if you want it. For the price, it's great value. But all the rooms face that courtyard, so people talking there early in the morning can ruin sleep, especially on the lower floors. That happens when guests head out early for treks or Machu Picchu. There are silence signs, but even staff ignored them. The curtains are very thin, so bring an eye mask if light bothers you. WiFi was really weak upstairs. I started in room 306 and struggled with it. One morning I misunderstood a staff member at breakfast, then heard her talking about me in Spanish with the front room staff. I know Spanish, idiot! Very unprofessional. I also needed a receipt, and somehow it took 10 hours to get it, which made me question the staff's competence. Not sure I'd stay again.

No problems during our stay. The staff were friendly and breakfast was great.
