The location was good, and the staff were nice. Sleeping was tough, though: the beds felt old and uncomfortable, with springs you could nearly feel and flat pillows. Someone upstairs kept walking nonstop, and the poor insulation meant we heard everything. The TV was okay, but small.

The suite was very spacious, with room for two couples, a small refrigerator, and a living area upstairs on the second floor. The hotel is cozy and quiet, about five blocks from the main square, and the area felt safe for walking. I came back after roughly ten years, though, and the rooms seemed run down. The mattresses and pillows urgently need replacing, and there was a bad smell in the bathroom. Breakfast was part of our rate and served from 6 to 10 am. We arrived at 9:30 and found almost everything gone: no silverware, just two dishes left, no bread or glasses, and most tables still needed cleaning. It gave the impression the hotel was understaffed and a bit disorganized. We asked whether more food was coming and were told yes. They said the bread had run out, then brought more about ten minutes later. I had to ask for glasses a couple of times to get juice, and it took a while for them to arrive. We ordered eggs and coffee, which were fine, but by then the damage was done. I like the place for being nice, quiet, and cozy, but I’m unsure whether I’ll return.

The staff were helpful, and we were upgraded to a beautiful, large room. The hotel seems to be an old mansion built around two open courtyards, and it’s all very nice. It’s about a five-minute walk downhill to the main squares and attractions, then around ten minutes back up at 3,400 meters. Cusco is an absolutely beautiful city.

The airport pickup and drop-off were arranged smoothly, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was delicious, everything was very clean, and the hotel is close to everything. After all the hiking, the hot tub in our room came in handy. Its jets were strong, so try to book one of those rooms. I’d definitely stay here again if I return to Cusco.
