Terra Andina Colonial Mansion

The room was spacious, and Terra Andina’s staff showed superb hospitality. A very good experience, highly recommended.

The toilet in my second room kept flushing and the front desk had to come up three times to try to fix it. They seemed to be responsible for maintenance, but knew less than I did about the problem, which needed a new flipper. One of the lights was out too, and they wouldn’t replace the bulb. I was there March 11-13. My room was moved after staff members had a dispute in my corridor on March 12. The heater didn’t work, and it was cold even though it was summer. I asked several times to speak with the manager, but he was never available.

Both of our rooms smelled so strongly of sewage that we had to leave the doors open while staff tried to deal with it. They poured a lot of chemicals down the drains to cover the odor, and that made the air feel even more toxic. Our eyes burned and our throats got itchy, so we ended up waiting in the lobby for hours while they looked for a solution. They had left the windows open in freezing weather before we arrived, which makes me think they knew about the problem. They still put two families on vacation through that ordeal. This hotel should be torn down and rebuilt with new management. Stay away at all cost.

The restaurant food was delicious at lunch and dinner, and breakfast was great too. They packed breakfast for our early morning tours at no extra charge when we asked, and kept our bags after checkout since our flight wasn’t until evening. The rooms were super clean, the location was excellent, and the service was excellent.
