The rooms are large and clean, with comfortable beds and chairs, and the bathrooms have great hot water and pressure. The staff took excellent care of us and were always available to answer questions or help. We also had dinner at the hotel and really liked the food. Breakfast is included and delicious. Hotel Tocuyeros is charming and centrally located. Its courtyard and upstairs patio and lounge look out over the city, with beautiful nighttime views of the cathedral and twinkling town lights. Just magical. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

We had two separate bookings with Machu Picchu in between, and the hotel was excellent both times. In a city where reliability can be hit or miss, this place really stands out. The staff are caring and dependable, the design is beautiful, and the food is decent. Late one night, my foot injury flared up and I urgently needed a shoe with arch support to avoid hurting it again. Despite the late hour and very limited transport, the team arranged a complicated delivery from Cusco to Ollantaytambo and then on to Aguas Calientes, the only route available then. It was difficult to organize, and they handled it with real care and commitment. They also paid attention when we mentioned minor linen issues, which we later learned can happen with high-altitude laundry systems. They upgraded us right away, and the room was noticeably better when we returned. The services were dependable, including the restaurant, friendly staff, and same-day laundry. They were also understanding when altitude sickness meant we had to shorten our stay.

I’m writing this while I’m still here because I’ve loved the service. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Victor at the front desk carried my suitcase to the room, explained everything, and said to call 0 from the hotel phone if I needed anything. The suite is beautiful and spacious, and I love the bathroom’s rainfall shower and hot tub. Don’t drink the tap water, though, as you can get sick. Stick to bottled water. Our toilet wouldn’t flush, so I told the front desk and someone came to fix it within five minutes. We had breakfast at the downstairs restaurant with a nice view. The night before our tour, I mentioned our 5am pickup and that we wouldn’t have time to eat. The woman at the desk kindly offered a takeaway breakfast with a sandwich, cookie, fruit, and bottled water. I definitely recommend staying here in Cusco!

We only had one night, and my one regret is not having more time. The owners and staff were so warm, gracious, and accommodating that they even arranged a massage for us the next morning before we left. Dinner and breakfast at Refugio were among the best meals we had on our eight-day trip, even though we were the only diners. The family touches were everywhere, from the Peruvian-modern decor and meal presentation to the landscaping and staff smiles. The suite was spacious, clean, tastefully done, and had a fantastic city view by day and night. Tocuyeros Boutique Hotel sits in the heart of the San Blas neighborhood, a peaceful spot for exploring the art district, with just the right touch of luxury. I found it through Google reviews and am so glad I did.

The real highlight was how attentive and warm the staff were. Antonio and Narda looked after us at breakfast each morning, and Danny and Marilia kept checking in and anticipating what we might need. When we left at 3am, they even prepared a snack for the trip, which was so kind. We had a small suite with a tub that was perfect for soaking in after a day out. The property is centrally placed between the main plaza and the plaza of San Blas, but still feels tranquil. San Blas is known as the artists’ neighborhood, and the views of Qosqo are gorgeous. A wonderful property and a lovely team. We’ll come back again and again!
