Samiria Jungle Hotel

I’ve stayed here in both 2024 and 2025. For Peru, it’s a fairly good hotel, with friendly staff, clean, pleasant rooms, and very nice local paintings. Check-in is easy and privacy is great. Noise inside usually wasn’t too bad, though music from the pool at night can be heard from probably all the rooms. It wasn’t very loud during my stay, but there was only one group by the pool. On my last night I could hear people through the wall fittings beside the bed, which was really strange. If you’re sensitive to sound, bring earplugs. The breakfast buffet was fresh and great, though I’d have liked more chicken choices instead of pork and meat. The evening food I ordered was also clean and good, with no problems. The air conditioning is new and works well, but I couldn’t adjust it, so I had to ask for a blanket. For a hot shower, turn the knob left and let it run a bit. Check-out is at 12. The internet was really bad, well below standard. I had work to finish and couldn’t get it done online. They blamed the rain, but it rains a lot here, so they should fix it.

LATAM airlines put us up here overnight. The staff are nice, but the beds feel like cardboard and we weren’t allowed to change rooms, even though we were among the first to arrive. The food was bland and limited, probably to save the airlines money. Breakfast was meant to be eggs and avocado, but all we got was cheap white bread with avocado. The AC is basically a fan.

There’s plenty of space in the room, with clean beds, new air conditioning, and a bathroom with a hot shower. The hotel is right in the centre of Iquitos, which makes getting around easier. It also has a nice restaurant and a clean pool, and the customer service was great. I’d definitely recommend it and know where I’ll stay next time.

The restaurant food was fantastic, especially the banana chips, the best I’ve ever had! The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the clean rooms gave us no issues. The Jungle Hotel felt relaxing, especially around the pool and bar, and was away from much of the noise I’d encountered at other places in Iquitos. I definitely recommend it.
