Churup Guest House

I’m definitely coming back to Huaraz, and I already know I’ll stay at Albergue Churup again. It’s one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in, with a beautiful building and a lovely courtyard. The rooms were comfortable, especially the supportive neck pillows. On the top floor, the breakfast buffet had breads, pancakes, eggs, fruit, honey, avocado, oatmeal, quinoa, and a nice super-automatic espresso machine. Everyone working there was great and did their best to help guests get out to the mountains for trekking.

Pablo was so welcoming when we arrived very early in the morning, and he helped us arrange tours. When he realized we’d miss breakfast one day, he offered to let us have it on the day we arrived instead. After we got caught in the rain, he lit a fire for us while we enjoyed a delicious bottle of Peruvian red from the bar. The wine was amazing and such good value. We loved the homemade breakfast too. It’s easily one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in, and I’d recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Thanks, Pablo 😊

This B&B-style hotel is a relaxed walk of about 10 minutes from the Plaza de Armas, near La Soledad. Breakfast is included in the rate and served on an enclosed rooftop terrace full of greenery. The food was tasty, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and all the staff were welcoming and accommodating. You can arrange tours through the hotel. I’d recommend it.

There’s a pleasant upstairs sitting area with a fire, plus a roof terrace. Breakfast was brilliant for the price, and the showers had hot water with good pressure all the time. We had a very enjoyable stay. The hotel is quiet and comfortable, close to some good restaurants, and the rooms and beds were spacious and comfortable. There’s little street noise, and if you request a room at the back, there’s almost none.
