Breakfast was another problem. Some mornings it took 45 minutes or more just to get coffee. They brought out many plates of eggs instead, while other tables got coffee within 10 minutes. Over the five days I stayed as part of a group trip, the hot water was a rarity. It might be hot, lukewarm, cold, or not running at all. Towels were often taken from the bathrooms and not replaced, and asking at the front desk for new ones caused confusion. They also ignored Do Not Disturb signs and “cleaned” the rooms anyway, usually taking the towels. When several of us returned from a trek, our rooms were unclean, with the bed sheets ripped off and dirty, used towels strewn around the bathroom. Quite possibly the worst hotel experience I’ve had. I’d recommend Tumi, a block down the street, instead of this “hotel”.

The room’s space heater worked well, and hot water felt great after a long tour. The hotel was clean, the food was good, and the employees were pleasant. Breakfast was free and continental. The wifi didn’t work well, but I didn’t really have time to mess with it.

We had to leave at 5am for our Laguna 69 tour, and the restaurant attached to the hotel made chicken sandwiches for us the night before. They left them at reception for us to collect before heading out. The rooms were simple and clean, and the front desk staff were wonderful.

The service was good, but the American breakfast was a joke. We also had to wait more than five minutes for hot water.
