After long days hiking, we were glad to have dinner at the B&B most nights. The food was delicious, affordable, and just what we needed. The climbing wall was fun, and there's also a decent kitchen. Our room was clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed and a nice hot shower. Gilf and Maruja made us feel at home right away and were incredibly accommodating, including an early check-in after our overnight bus and early breakfasts before hikes. Gilf loves hiking and helped us plan two self-guided hikes, then arranged a very affordable tour to Laguna 69. Casa de Maruja is peaceful, away from the busy centre, and easy to reach from town by colectivo for 2 sol or Uber/taxi for 7 sol. It's also on the way to many Cordillera Blanca hikes, including Laguna 69. A fantastic base if you're visiting Huaraz to hike.

We booked two nights and ended up staying five. They helped arrange several tracks and cooked lovely dinners for us. When our bus wasn't leaving until late on the last day, they let us keep the room so we could shower before heading off, with no extra charge. We arrived early from a night bus and they let us check in straight away so we could get some much-needed sleep. They were so kind and accommodating, and really cared about making our experience the best it could be. 10/10.

We felt really welcome at Casa de Maruja, and ended up eating dinner there every night because it was so delicious. Gilf, Maruja and Evelyn helped us with everything, from recommending activities to booking and organizing them. The atmosphere feels like a family. Thanks to the whole team! Definitely recommend it.

The hostel is in a lovely spot just outside town, so it's quieter and closer to the mountaineering and hiking destinations to the north. A colectivo into town costs only 1.50 soles. The staff are super friendly, and it's by far the nicest hostel I've stayed at.

It's a little outside the city, but colectivos pass the Hotel every few minutes and the ride into town takes only a few minutes and costs very little. After a day of activities like hiking, the calm atmosphere and chill rooftop area with its climbing wall made this a perfect place to relax. Maruja and Gilf are a lovely, funny, friendly couple who are happy to help with anything, and their staff are sweet and helpful too. You get cozy rooms, great breakfast, information about everything, and help preparing for hikes, including equipment rental. Great service for a fair price. I can definitely recommend staying here.
